Currently, Yen Thanh district is directing these localities to strictly implement regulations in the prevention and control of African swine fever, especially setting up checkpoints and assigning forces to be on duty at the checkpoints; absolutely not allowing people to transport pigs in and out of epidemic areas.
In Lien Thanh commune, the outbreak occurred at the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu in hamlet 2, with 2 sows infected with African swine fever.
Immediately after testing positive for African swine fever, the locality destroyed two infected pigs belonging to Mrs. Nguyen Thi Kieu's family; at the same time, established epidemic prevention and control teams according to the district's scenario. The commune has set up four epidemic checkpoints on the main roads leading in and out of the area, and assigned police and military forces to block them 24/7.
