Nghe AnCurrently, there are a total of 3,438 fishing vessels at sea, with 17,190 workers.
According to information from the Department of Fisheries, to prevent damage caused by storms,storm number 7By 9am on October 10, 3,354 vehicles/16,979 workers had returned to shore and anchored in safe locations. The number of ships operating in the sea areas is 84, with 211 workers, mainly working in coastal areas. Of which, Dien Chau has 58 ships, Hoang Mai town has 15 ships, Cua Lo town has 8 ships, Nghi Loc has 3 ships.
Currently, localities and authorities are propagating and mobilizing fishermen to urgently move the remaining boats ashore to safely avoid the storm.

Previously, on the afternoon of October 9, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Urgent Dispatch No. 34 dated October 9, 2021 on prohibiting ships from going to sea during storm No. 7. To ensure the safety of fishermen,ships, The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue requests the Chairman - Head of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of the districts: Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Nghi Loc, Cua Lo town, Hoang Mai town, the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Department of Fisheries and related units to urgently implement the following contents:
1. All ships and means of transport are prohibited from going to sea from 00:00 on October 10, 2021 until the end of the storm. Ships operating at sea must return to anchor safely before 10:00 on October 10.
2. Use all means and measures to inform ships at sea about the storm's developments, guide and call on ships to return to safe shelters or escape from dangerous areas. Provide guidance on anchoring at shelters; organize the relocation and anchoring of aquaculture cages and floating houses to ensure safety.

At the Cua Lo - Ben Thuy Port Border Guard Station, the unit has coordinated with functional forces and local authorities to deploy plans to ensure safety against storms. At seaports, the unit has sent forces to directly propagate and help people tie down boats to prevent collisions during storms.
Together with border units, mountain units have also proactively developed plans and solutions to prevent storms and floods, and reviewed areas at risk of flash floods, inundation, and landslides due to storm circulation to have necessary plans to evacuate people to ensure safety.
