3 pig samples in Do Luong tested negative for African swine fever

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 7, Mr. Do Dinh Khoa - Head of the Veterinary Station of Do Luong district said that 3 samples of sick pigs in the district taken for testing on April 5 and 6 had negative results for African swine fever.

Previously, on April 5 and 6, upon receiving reports from local authorities, the Do Luong District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station took samples of sick pigs at three locations: Mr. Nguyen Cong Thuc's household in Long Minh hamlet, Minh Son commune; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung in hamlet 5, Xuan Son commune and pigs of Battalion 17 stationed in Nhan Son commune.

By the morning of April 7, Mr. Vo Dinh Khoa - Head of the Livestock and Veterinary Station of Do Luong district said that all three samples above were negative for African swine fever.

Thus, after 3 days of the outbreak at Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa's household in Long Minh hamlet, Minh Son commune, in Do Luong district, there has not been any new outbreak of African swine fever.

Currently, in Do Luong district, there are about 80 thousand pigs, notably the whole district has 8 large-scale pig farms and nearly 100 pig farms.

To control African swine fever on a small scale, the People's Committee of Do Luong district is directing the affected localities and 5 neighboring communes, and specialized agencies to focus human resources and synchronous epidemic prevention solutions. In particular, directing the communes to step up propaganda work to help all people understand the dangers of African swine fever so that people can raise awareness and proactively prevent it. Especially at pig farms and farms, it is necessary to strictly prevent the disease.
