500 Vinh University students participate in voluntary blood donation
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 19, at Vinh University's gymnasium, the third "Voluntary Blood Donation Festival" of 2018 took place, attracting more than 500 union members and youth to participate.
As part of the series of activities to celebrate the 128th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2018), Vinh University Student Association in collaboration with Nghe An Provincial Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center organized the 2018 voluntary blood donation festival.
With the motto "Give a drop of blood, save a life", the festival attracted more than 500 students from the whole school to register to donate blood.

From very early, many students were present for health check-up before donating blood. All students who donated blood shared the joy of contributing a small part to the development of the community.

Hoang Thi Huyen Thuong, a student of class 58B5 - Faculty of Accounting, shared: "This is the first time I have donated blood. Although I am very scared when I see blood, I think this is a meaningful activity, an opportunity for students to show their role in society, so I will definitely donate blood next time."
At the end of the festival, the organizers expect to collect more than 400 units of blood from volunteers. This amount of blood will be transferred to Nghe An Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center, contributing to the treatment of thousands of patients in the province.
