(Baonghean.vn) - In the first 6 months of 2023, the number of corruption cases and defendants discovered (20 cases/91 defendants) increased sharply compared to the number of corruption cases and defendants discovered in the same period in 2022.
The report on the results of anti-corruption work in the first 6 months of 2023; directions and tasks for the last 6 months of 2023 of the Provincial People's Committee presented at the 14th Session, the 18th Provincial People's Council emphasized:Anti-corruption work has been implemented with attention by the Provincial People's Committee and all levels and sectors.

Anti-corruption solutions have been implemented seriously and synchronously, along with regular dissemination and education of laws on anti-corruption, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of civil servants, public employees and workers. Therefore, authorities at all levels and sectors have achieved positive and clear results, detecting and handling many corruption cases through investigation, prosecution and trial. Corruption has been handled seriously by all levels and sectors, with the right people and the right crimes.
In the first 6 months of 2023, investigation agencies actively verified and prosecuted many corruption cases: The number of corruption cases discovered during the period (20 cases/91 defendants) increased sharply compared to the number of corruption cases and defendants discovered in the same period last year (an increase of 10 cases, 70 defendants, an increase of 100% in the number of cases, an increase of 333% in the number of defendants compared to the same period in 2022).
The corruption situation in the coming time will still have complicated developments, there will still be a situation where officials and civil servants abuse their positions and powers for personal gain, for group interests, and especially the problem of petty corruption is creeping into agencies and units, making people still angry and dissatisfied; concentrated in a number of sensitive areas such as: construction investment, land management, trade, finance, banking, health care...
Therefore, the tasks and solutions in the coming time are for the Provincial People's Committee to organize the implementation of the 2018 Law on Anti-Corruption, the Decrees guiding the implementation of the 2018 Law on Anti-Corruption and the documents of the Central and Provincial Party Committees directing the work of anti-corruption. Continue to synchronously implement solutions to prevent, detect and handle corruption; raise awareness, promote the role of society in anti-corruption work; disseminate laws associated with studying and following the ideology, morality and style of President Ho Chi Minh.

Focus on leading and directing to further improve the effectiveness of propaganda and education on anti-corruption and negativity; associated with promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle; building a culture of integrity, no corruption and negativity among cadres, party members, civil servants and public employees. Promote exemplary and decisive behavior, words go hand in hand with actions and actions go hand in hand with words of leaders and collective leaders at all levels, sectors, agencies, organizations, units and localities in anti-corruption and negativity; proactively detect and control conflicts of interest; build and implement a code of conduct and professional ethics standards.
Conduct a review of 10 years of implementing Directive No. 10-CT/TTg dated June 12, 2013 of the Prime Minister on incorporating anti-corruption content into education, training and fostering programs, on that basis propose tasks and solutions to promote education on anti-corruption and negativity; focus on educating integrity and thrift among students after receiving guidance from the Government Inspectorate.

Tighten discipline and administrative order; promptly detect and strictly handle acts of harassment and negativity; effectively prevent harassment, causing difficulties and troubles for people and businesses when transacting with state agencies according to Directive No. 10/CT-TTg dated April 22, 2019 of the Prime Minister.
Strengthening political and ideological education, training in ethics, working style, and professional skills for cadres and civil servants. At the same time, promoting training to improve professional capacity and qualifications for cadres and civil servants working in anti-corruption in the new situation. Organizing training courses on anti-corruption for cadres working in anti-corruption at agencies, organizations, and units in the province.
Strengthen the inspection and examination of the responsibility for implementing legal regulations on anti-corruption according to the plan and direction of the Provincial Steering Committee on anti-corruption and negativity. Focus on inspecting areas prone to corruption and negativity, prominent and pressing issues in society, specialized areas, closed and secretive activities (such as land management, mineral resources; investment projects in the form of BOT, BT, equitization of state-owned enterprises, finance, banking, tax, customs, foreign investment, personnel work, etc.)
Step up the supervision of the implementation of conclusions and instructions after inspections and checks; continue to strictly implement the coordination mechanism to detect and handle violations during the process of inspection, audit, investigation, prosecution, trial, and execution of judgments.
Strengthen the work of detecting and handling corruption; strengthen the urging, inspection, and supervision of the investigation, prosecution, and trial of serious, complicated corruption cases and violations of economic management order that are of public concern; and improve the effectiveness of recovering corrupt assets.
Speed up the progress of handling and resolving serious, complicated corruption and negative cases that are of public concern and are monitored and directed by the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and the Nghe An Provincial Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Negatives. Closely coordinate between inspection, examination, auditing agencies and prosecution agencies to promptly handle cases with signs of corruption crimes discovered during the inspection, examination and auditing process.
Strengthen coordination with the People's Council, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political and socio-professional organizations at all levels, press and media agencies and promote the people's supervisory role in preventing and combating corruption and negativity. Receive and promptly handle information on corruption through denunciations and crime reports from the masses and media agencies.
