(Baonghean.vn) - 7 F2 cases at Vinh General Hospital had the first negative test results and were quarantined at home. The hospital continues to review and strictly and synchronously implement epidemic prevention solutions for cases that have contact with patient 3491.

Previously, at 3:45 p.m. on May 13, 2021, Vinh City General Hospital received information from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) of Nghe An province about the case of patient: Luong Quoc Trinh, born in 1933, related to patient 3491 who was examined at Bach Mai Hospital on April 28, 2021 and visited the Emergency Department of Vinh City General Hospital on May 3, 2021.

Vinh General Hospital promptly issued an official dispatch to direct departments/offices, deciding that 7 staff members who had contact with F1 patients should self-isolate at home.

Immediately after receiving the information, the hospital's Covid-19 Prevention and Control Steering Committee held an emergency meeting and conducted an epidemiological investigation. Accordingly, at 8:30 a.m. on May 3, 2021, the Emergency Department of Vinh General Hospital received patient Luong Quoc Trinh. After examination, the patient was diagnosed with pleural effusion (P)/lung cancer. After that, the Emergency Department consulted with the Department of Intensive Care - Anti-Poisoning - Artificial Kidney, the hospital leadership and agreed on the above diagnosis; at the same time, decided to transfer the patient to Nghe An Oncology Hospital at 9:07 a.m. on the same day.

According to the results of the epidemiological investigation and screening of the hospital's epidemic prevention steering committee, there were 7 F2 cases in direct contact with patient Luong Quoc Trinh and all were hospital medical staff.

As soon as the results of the epidemiological investigation were available, the Hospital Steering Committee reported to the provincial CDC, took samples for testing for these 7 F2 cases and decided to quarantine these 7 staff at home from May 13, 2021 to May 24, 2021. The first test results (May 14) of all 7 medical staff were negative.

The first test results of 7 Vinh General Hospital staff who are F2 of patient 3491 were all negative.

At the same time, implementing Official Dispatch No. 1721/SYT-NVY dated May 14, 2021 of the Department of Health on reviewing the implementation of Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control work for cases with factors of contact with patient 3491, the hospital has continued to review and seriously, synchronously and drastically implement epidemic prevention solutions.
