440 robberies and thefts occurred in Nghe An in 9 months
(Baonghean.vn) - The crime of theft, robbery, and snatching in Nghe An province is becoming more complicated. In the first 9 months of the year, there were 440 cases of theft, robbery, and snatching with a total property value of 23 billion VND.
According to the synthesis from Nghe An Police, from November 16, 2016 to August 15, 2017, the whole province had 403 cases of property theft, 13 cases of robbery, 24 cases of snatching. Compared to the same period in 2016, there were 16 cases of property theft, 10 cases of robbery, and 20 cases of snatching.

These crimes caused damage to 3 cars, 43 motorbikes, 211 cell phones, 16 gold necklaces, 3 gold bars, 220 silver bars, 152 gold taels, 33 computers, more than 9 billion in cash (including many foreign currencies and Vietnamese currency) and many other assets worth about 23 billion VND.
From May 16, 2017 to August 15, 2017, the police of various units and localities investigated and clarified 415 cases, 554 subjects of property theft, 15 cases, 28 subjects of property robbery; 13 cases, 29 subjects of property snatching; confiscated 3 cars, 176 motorbikes, 216 mobile phones, 27 laptops, more than 8 taels of gold, many other valuable assets and money with a total value of nearly 5 billion VND.
According to Nghe An Police, the methods and tricks of property theft, robbery and snatching crimes are increasingly sophisticated and cunning; the subjects tend to collude with each other, forming gangs, dens, and groups of property theft, robbery and snatching to operate between districts and provinces.

Some criminals operate on the move, quickly leaving the area after committing the crime and disposing of the evidence of the case. Most of the criminals have criminal records and therefore have a lot of experience in dealing with the investigation agency.
In addition to residential areas, schools, and offices, criminals also target Catholic churches and temples to steal property, causing panic and anxiety among the people.
