Through monitoring and using professional measures, the Task Force identified Dinh Van Tam (born in 1988), residing in Yen Hoa village, Hoa Tien commune, Minh Hoa district (Quang Binh province) as the main link in this chain. The Task Force sent a working group to Quang Binh province to monitor Tam. On November 24, Tam was discovered carrying 9 sacks of goods, suspected to be firecrackers, onto a passenger bus traveling from Huong Hoa district (Quang Binh) to the north, so the working group followed him.
At 9:30 p.m., Tam delivered the goods to the side of Vinh bypass, in Nghi Dien commune. There was a subject waiting in a 4-seat car with license plate 37A - 395.85 and loading the goods into the car. At this time, it was late at night, there were many vehicles on the road, seeing that arresting the two subjects was not safe, the task force continued to follow. The two subjects drove around on many roads, then stopped on Cho Son road to Phuc Tho commune, in hamlet 3, Nghi Thach commune, Nghi Loc district.
Seeing the right opportunity, the task force swooped in to arrest them. Searching the trunk of the car, the task force discovered 9 bags of snake carcasses containing 183 kg of foreign-made firecrackers. At the investigation agency, Dinh Van Tam confessed that he bought the firecrackers in Quang Tri province and then brought them to Nghe An to use a car with his friend Nguyen Duc Tuan (born in 1988), residing in Hamlet 1, Nghi Dien commune, to take them to Nghi Thach commune to wait for them to be sold to a customer in Cua Lo town.
Currently, Dinh Van Tam and Nguyen Duc Tuan are being detained for further investigation by authorities.
