The Provincial Ethnic Committee gives gifts to poor students and policy beneficiaries in Que Phong district

(Baonghean.vn) - Within the framework of the working program with Que Phong district on the afternoon of March 17, comrade Vi Van Son - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Ethnic Minorities Committee and the working delegation visited and presented gifts to policy beneficiaries in the district.

The delegation went to Dong Van commune and directly presented gifts to Mr. Vi Van Phong - a revolutionary contributor in Dong Moi village and Mr. Lang Hong Thang - a prestigious person in Tuc Pang village; Mr. Tho Xia Ly - a prestigious person in Pa Khom village.

On this occasion, the delegation also gave gifts to Xong Ba Chong, a 3rd grade student of Mong ethnic group at Tri Le 2 Primary School, who is an orphan and has a particularly difficult family situation.

The delegation had a working session with the Tri Le commune government - a commune that has received support from the Provincial Ethnic Committee for the past 9 years, thereby contributing to improving the spirit, consolidating life, and reducing the poverty rate of the people in the commune. In particular, it has strengthened the relationship and trust of the people in the Party, the Government, social organizations or the programs and policies of the State for ethnic minorities.

Also at the working session with Que Phong district, the delegation of the Provincial Ethnic Committee listened to the leaders of Que Phong district report on the results of implementing the socio-economic development plan and ethnic policies in 2020 of the district.

Comrade Vi Van Son shared the difficulties of Que Phong district, and at the same time hoped that in the coming time, the district needs to pay more attention to cadres working on ethnic affairs, linking the task of economic development with the preservation and conservation of ethnic cultures, developing tourism products from local specialties...

Que Phong is a mountainous, border district located in the Northwest of Nghe An province. The district has 12 communes, 1 town, with 107 villages; population of over 72,000 people including 4 ethnic groups. In 2020, along with the general difficulties of the whole country due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic; drought, natural disasters, landslides, epidemics... occurred, causing significant impacts on the production situation and economic life of the people.
