Improvement in investment promotion and attraction

Implementing tasks in the context of many difficulties in 2023, but on the basis of closely following the requirements and tasks, the management boards of economic zones and industrial parks of 6 North Central provinces have made many efforts and effectively implemented emulation movements to excellently complete the set political tasks.

In the Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone, in 2023, 27 new projects were granted, including 18 FDI projects, with a total registered capital of 35,069.7 billion VND; 55 projects were adjusted, with an additional capital of 6,462 billion VND; Quang Tri Economic Zone and Industrial Park newly granted 5 projects, with a total registered capital of 1,409 billion VND, up to now, there are 183 projects that have been granted investment policy decisions and valid investment certificates of 167,373 billion VND; Nghi Son Economic Zone and Industrial Park of Thanh Hoa province newly granted 20 projects, including 14 domestic investment projects, with a registered capital of 10,144 billion VND and 6 foreign investment projects, with a total registered capital of 49 million USD, adjusting 47 projects; Accumulated to date is 724 projects, of which 649 are foreign investment projects...

In 2023, the Economic Zones and Industrial Parks of Ha Tinh province granted 5 new projects, adjusted investment policies and granted investment certificates to 15 projects; to date, there are 193 valid investment projects. The Economic Zones and Industrial Parks of Quang Binh province also granted 5 new projects, adjusted 18 projects with a total newly registered and adjusted capital of 675 billion VND; the Economic Zones and Industrial Parks of Thua Thien Hue province granted 11 new projects, adjusted 5 projects, with a total investment capital of 5,927 billion VND.

At the conference, in the spirit of exchanging and sharing experiences, the management boards of economic zones and industrial parks of the North Central provinces made speeches, contributing ideas and agreeing on key tasks for emulation work in 2024. Based on the summary and evaluation of the emulation movement in 2023 and the implementation of the goals and requirements of the emulation work in 2024, the management boards of the economic zones of the provinces have signed emulation agreements with the following key contents: Regarding state management and project management, each management board must develop specific programs and plans to focus on leading and directing the development of industrial parks and economic zones; continue to mobilize resources to complete the construction of infrastructure in industrial parks and economic zones.

Based on sharing general information on the requirements for State management in the new period related to a number of newly promulgated laws and the general situation of the economy and public investment, the representative of the Ministry of Planning and Investment suggested a number of new orientations, tasks and emulation contents in 2024 of the industry and the emulation bloc of economic zone management boards so that the economic zone and industrial park management boards of the North Central provinces can proactively implement them early, contributing to the investment attraction results of each locality./.
