Due to debt, gaming and drug addiction, 3 young men made an appointment to rob property, then broke into a house, restrained the victim, and demanded all the money and property in the safe.

On the morning of September 13, Thuong Tin District Police (Hanoi) said that they had worked with the Criminal Police Department of Hanoi Police to arrest Doan Huy Hoang (18 years old), Doan Van Tu (18 years old) and Phan Van Huan (34 years old) to investigate their behavior.Robbery.

Previously, at around 4:20 a.m. on September 7, Thuong Tin District Police received a report of a group of people carrying weapons breaking into a house, restraining Ms. VTT (47 years old) and Ms. NTT (56 years old), in Mai Xa village, Thang Loi commune, with the intention of robbing them.

Taking advantage of the moment when the subjects were distracted, Ms. NTT managed to escape and call for help from relatives. The subjects fled to National Highway 1A, but were chased by the Thang Loi Commune Police and local people, who captured one person.

3 suspects have been arrested by the police.

Through "hot" investigation, the police clarified that this subject is Doan Huy Hoang (18 years old, hometown Giao Thuy, Nam Dinh province).

Initially, Hoang confessed that his motive for using weapons to break into people's houses to rob money and property was because he was in debt. However, Hoang did not know any information about his accomplices. "We got to know each other through social networks, through the group "Desperate and desperate people take risks", then made an appointment to plan the robbery", Hoang confessed.

Immediately after that, the police agency urgently started to arrest the group of subjects. Using professional measures, on September 9, in Nam Dinh province, the police ambushed and arrested the second subject, Doan Van Tu (18 years old, in Tam Nong, Phu Tho province).

This young man not only did not know Doan Huy Hoang but also did not know the name of the third accomplice who was on the run.

At around 1:30 a.m. on September 12, in Thanh Hoa province, Phan Van Huan (34 years old, living in Nghi Son town, Thanh Hoa province, with a previous conviction for extortion), the last member of the robbery group, was arrested. Immediately afterwards, he was taken to the police headquarters to assist in the investigation.

Combining the statements of the gang and the documents collected by the police, Doan Huy Hoang used a fake "nick" to access the group "Desperate debtors who take risks" on Facebook, with the purpose of finding and inviting others to commit crimes to earn money to pay off debts.

Without difficulty, Hoang connected with Tu and Huan's fake "nicks", then created a Facebook group for the three to discuss kidnapping to seize property and rob. The suspects agreed that when they met, no one would ask for their names, and they had to wear hats, masks, and covered clothes.

At around 9:00 p.m. on September 6, Hoang arranged to meet Tu and Huan in Nam Dinh City to carry out the kidnapping plot to seize property but could not find the "prey".

Seeing that, Huan invited the group to move to Hanoi, with the purpose of entering houses in the suburbs to rob property. At around 4:00 a.m. on September 7, the group hired a taxi to return to Mai Xa village, Thang Loi commune, Thuong Tin district. Hoang gave Tu a pair of scissors, told him to wear gloves, and then knocked on Mrs. VTT's door. At this time, Mrs. VTT was plucking chicken feathers with Mrs. N.TT.

As soon as Mrs. VTT opened the gate, Hoang and Tu immediately rushed in with scissors, restraining her and forcing her and Mrs. T. into the bedroom. Tu went back to the yard to get a knife, while Hoang held scissors and forced Mrs. VTT to take all the money and assets in the safe, and transfer the money in the bank account to them. But Mrs. T. said she was just a hired worker so she did not know the password to open the safe.

Taking advantage of the moment when the two robbers were not paying attention, Ms. NTT ran outside to call for help from neighbors and relatives. Knowing that they could not commit the crime successfully, the subjects fled to National Highway 1A, but were determinedly pursued by the Thang Loi Commune Police and local people. Subject Hoang was arrested on the spot as mentioned above.

At the police station, Tu confessed to owing more than 100 million VND, due to losses from gambling, betting and playing video games on the Internet. Hoang also had a large debt, while Phan Van Huan lived a vagrant life, was addicted to the internet and had used drugs.

The reason why the police took so long to catch Huan was because he had a “special talent” for walking. The police chased after him for dozens of kilometers, through several provinces and cities, but still failed. Because Huan did not use any means of transport, he mainly sneaked into side streets and alleys to avoid the attention and detection of the authorities…
