According to initial investigation, at around 7:00 a.m. on June 15, Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Ba (58 years old, residing in Dai Phuoc commune, Cang Long district) was riding her bicycle on National Highway 60 to go to the market.
While she was traveling in Dai Phuoc commune, Cang Long district, a young man suddenly came from behind, knocked her off her bike, snatched the 18K gold necklace (weighing 1.1 taels) she was wearing around her neck, and ran away.
Having her property snatched, Mrs. Ba shouted robbery, many local people together chased and captured this young man and handed him over to the police.
Initially, the suspect said his name was Nguyen Trung Canh. Due to lack of money, he had the idea of snatching property. While walking on the street, he saw Ms. Ba walking alone wearing a gold necklace, so he attacked.
