Arrest of 'hot girl' for fraud and property appropriation in real estate sector in Vinh City

On May 16, the Criminal Police Department of Nghe An Province Police said that the unit is temporarily detaining Au Thi Thanh Hang (born in 1996), residing in Vinh Tan Ward, Vinh City, Nghe An Province to investigate and clarify the act of "Fraud, appropriation of property".

Accordingly, implementing the direction of the Provincial Police Director on the fight against subjects with fraudulent behavior and property appropriation in the field of land in Nghe An province, through the work of grasping the situation and managing subjects, in early May 2022, the Criminal Police Department, Nghe An Provincial Police discovered that subject Au Thi Thanh Hang (born in 1996), residing in Vinh Tan ward, Vinh city, had complicated social relationships with many criminal subjects in the area and showed signs of economic ambiguity.

It is worth mentioning that, despite not having a stable job, Hang often posts pictures of herself partying at luxurious places, driving a Mercedes, living in a luxury apartment on social media, showing off that she always has billions of dong in her account, and introduces herself as a successful real estate entrepreneur to attract many followers and call for investors.

Determining that Au Thi Thanh Hang's behavior showed signs of taking advantage of real estate investment to defraud and appropriate property with a large amount of money, the Criminal Police Department reported to the provincial police leadership to plan to fight and arrest the subject.

On May 11, 2022, the Criminal Police Department arrested Au Thi Thanh Hang for fraud and property appropriation, confiscated and temporarily detained 2 Land Use Rights Certificates under the name of Au Thi Thanh Hang (forged by Hang), 1 deposit contract for land transfer, 1 Mercedes car and many documents related to real estate business activities.

At the police station, Hang initially confessed that because she saw that recently in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, land was "hot", many people were investing and doing real estate business, Hang created for herself a "cover" as a successful real estate businessman to call for "shared capital" from investors. To create trust and defraud, appropriate property with a large amount of money, Hang made a deposit contract for land purchase and sale, forged the Land Use Rights Certificate and then transferred it to those who invested in land with her.

With the above tricks, the police initially determined that from January 2022 to present, Au Thi Thanh Hang has used 2 fake land use right certificates to defraud Ms. PTMH (born in 1991), residing in Hoang Mai district, Hanoi city, of nearly 8 billion VND.

The case is currently being investigated and expanded.

The Criminal Police Department, Nghe An Provincial Police also informed those who are victims of Au Thi Thanh Hang to quickly contact or come to the headquarters of the Criminal Police Department, Nghe An Provincial Police to report and coordinate the settlement.
