Arresting the leader of an inter-district drug trafficking ring
Nguyen Tuan Anh is the ringleader with a previous drug conviction, colluding with bad elements, buying drugs abroad and transporting them to Vinh city, then dividing them into small pieces and selling them to retail outlets in the area and neighboring districts.
Previously, through the work of grasping the situation, Vinh City Police discovered an inter-district drug trafficking ring led by Nguyen Tuan Anh (commonly known as Tuan Anh Nhuan, born in 1989), residing in Block 7, Trung Do Ward, Vinh City. Having a previous conviction for drug-related crimes, Nguyen Tuan Anh operated in a closed manner, using many extremely sophisticated tricks to deal with the police force. The subject colluded with bad elements, bought drugs abroad, then transported them to Vinh City, then divided them into small pieces and sold them to retail outlets in the area and neighboring districts.
To avoid detection by the authorities, this subject was cunning, only selling drugs to acquaintances, through acquaintances' introductions, absolutely not contacting and trading drugs with strangers. During the delivery process, the subject often chose deserted areas and frequently changed vehicles and transaction locations. Along with that, Nguyen Tuan Anh took advantage of the terrain of Trung Do ward with many small, tangled alleys and lanes to carry out transactions, causing many difficulties in the process of approaching the scene and investigating the case.
With the spirit of resolutely attacking and strongly suppressing crime, concentrating forces and means to quickly cut off the complex inter-district drug trafficking ring run by Nguyen Tuan Anh, Vinh City Police established a special project, assigned the Drug Crime Investigation Police Team to preside.
Synchronously deploying professional measures, at about 2:30 p.m. on July 15, 2024, at No. 72 Cu Chinh Lan Street, Trung Do Ward, Vinh City, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Team, Vinh City Police in coordination with Trung Do Ward Police, Provincial Police Department successfully broke up a case, cut off an inter-district drug trafficking ring, and arrested Nguyen Tuan Anh for illegal drug trafficking. At the scene, the police seized 2 kg of crystal meth and some related evidence.
Currently, the case is being further investigated by the Vinh City Police Investigation Agency.
