Arrested a person transporting 3,000 synthetic drug pills worth more than half a billion VND

Mai Dinh Duong was hired by a Laotian to transport 3,000 synthetic drug pills and crystal meth across the border, and was paid 20 million VND.

At around 12:00 noon on August 5, at the entry and exit lane of Cau Treo international border gate (Huong Son district), Ha Tinh Border Guard coordinated with interdisciplinary forces including Police, Customs, and administrative inspectors to find Mai Dinh Duong (28 years old) sitting on a Lao passenger bus preparing to complete procedures to go to Vietnam on suspicion of transporting drugs.

Searching Duong's luggage and person, authorities discovered 15 blue plastic bags containing 3,000 pink pills (synthetic drugs), 0.1 kg of crystal meth, and 5 grams of heroin.

The above batch of synthetic drugs was worth more than 500 million VND. Duong said he was hired by a Laotian to transport the drugs to Vietnam to deliver to a partner. When he succeeded, he was paid 20 million VND.

The case is under further investigation.
