The program was launched in 2017 but in 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic raging around the world, it had to be postponed until 2021. It was then resumed but was only implemented in a few countries around the world.
As a member of the World Hypertension Society, Vietnam has participated in the program since its inception and even during the peak of the pandemic in 2020 and 2021, it has maintained its implementation with high appreciation from the World Hypertension Organization.
In 2022, in the context of the epidemic trending down and being controlled, the MMM Program continued to be organized with the participation of more than 80 countries around the world, including our country.
In Nghe An, Vinh Medical University Hospital is honored to be the unit participating with the World Hypertension Society, Vietnam Heart Association, and MMM Vietnam Organizing Committee to implement hypertension screening in Nghe An for 3 consecutive years since 2017. The number of people screened and consulted for treatment is about 6,000 people in 3 years (2017-2019). In 2020 and 2021, due to the severe impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the program was not implemented.
To continue implementing the "May Blood Pressure Measurement Program", Vinh University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital proactively launched the program, implementing hypertension screening in Que Phong district on May 8, 2022. Attending the ceremony were Associate Professor, Dr. Cao Truong Sinh - Director of the Hospital along with 40 medical staff and volunteers who implemented hypertension screening for 1,000 people in Que Phong and Quy Chau districts.
