(Baonghean.vn) - Aspergillus is one of four common fungi that cause lung fungal disease. If not detected and treated promptly, the risk of death is high. Recently, patient NVT was discovered and successfully operated on for a lung fungal tumor at Vinh International Hospital.

Patient NVT, born in 1989, in Vinh City, Nghe An, has had a cough that has lasted for about a month. Although the patient took cough medicine, it did not help, accompanied by fatigue, poor appetite and weight loss.

The patient came to Vinh International Hospital for examination with the following signs: No fever, few rales on auscultation of the lungs, and no signs of infection on examination. However, on the patient's chest X-ray, there was a fibrous mass in the right subclavian region and a calcified nodule measuring 30 x 14 mm.

The doctor examined and ordered a chest CT scan for the patient and discovered a cavitary lesion in the right lung lobe, measuring 65 x 31 mm, communicating with a bronchial branch, with a thin cavity wall. Inside the cavity was a 30 x 14 mm opaque mass that could move with gravity.

Due to the serious nature of the disease, which can affect the patient's life, when diagnosed with pulmonary mycosis, doctors ordered surgery to remove part of the lung or lobe of the lung along with the cyst containing the mycosis for timely treatment.
