(Baonghean.vn) - After a long period of heavy rain and floods, taking advantage of the sunny weather, people in Do Luong district are planting chives.

The area of chives in Do Luong district is structured to be planted in highland areas, without proactive water supply, and planting other crops is not effective.

This year, the entire Do Luong district planted over 60 hectares of chives, mainly concentrated in Tru Son commune with 50 hectares, Nhan Son and Minh Son each with 5 hectares.

In recent years, Do Luong people have grown chives because chives can withstand drought, require little investment in care and fertilization, but yield 3 to 4 times higher income than growing other plants.

According to farmers' experience, to grow shallots with high yield of 4-5 quintals/sao, the land must be prepared in small, high beds, then manure and NPK must be spread, the bulbs must be sown evenly, and a layer of soil must be continued.

After planting onions, cover the bed with mulch.
