(Baonghean.vn) - After a long period of heavy rain and floods, taking advantage of the sunny weather, people in Do Luong district planted chives.

The area of chives in Do Luong district is planted in highland areas without proactive water supply, and growing other crops is not effective.

This year, the entire Do Luong district planted over 60 hectares of chives, mainly concentrated in Tru Son commune with 50 hectares, Nhan Son and Minh Son each with 5 hectares.

In recent years, Do Luong people have developed chives because chives can withstand drought, require little investment in fertilization, but give 3 to 4 times higher income than growing other plants.

According to farmers' experience, to grow shallots with high yield of 4-5 quintals/sao, the land must be prepared in small, high beds, then spread manure and NPK, sow the bulbs evenly, and continue to cover with rice husks and a layer of soil.

After planting onions, cover the bed with mulch.
