Community infection case in Quynh Luu has complicated itinerary, contact with many people

On the evening of October 1, Mr. Nguyen Van Thuong - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district said that medical staff are urgently taking samples for community screening tests for all residents of Village 5, Quynh Hoa Commune, Quynh Luu District. This is the village where the couple infected with Covid-19, in which the husband was discovered while in Binh Phuoc province.

According to Mr. Thuong, the husband works as a long-distance driver and lives mainly in Ho Chi Minh City, while his wife is still in the countryside. On the morning of September 23, he returned to his hometown from the South without making a health declaration. After staying at home for 2 days, on the morning of September 25, he was picked up by a friend and taken to the South.

A few days later, in Binh Phuoc, he was found to be infected with Covid-19, so he called his wife to inform her. The wife's test results later showed that she was also infected with Covid-19.

According to the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district, this man returned home and left at dawn, while at that time Quynh Luu was starting to flood, so the commune government as well as the community monitoring team did not detect it. Up to now, the health agency has traced 37 people who had contact with this man during the 2 days he was in his hometown. As for the wife, the health agency is still tracing and looking for F1. "The schedule of both husband and wife is very complicated, they come into contact with many people," said Mr. Thuong.

Currently, Quynh Luu district has also issued an urgent notice about locations related to Covid-19 patients. The locations include:

- Quynh Thach commune crossroads, 4am September 23.

- Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tu's house, village 4, Quynh Hoa commune, at 6:00 p.m. on September 23.

- Fish pond of Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh's family, village 5, Quynh Hoa commune, September 24.

- Quynh Hau crossroads, at 1am on September 25.

Quynh Luu District recommends that people who were present at these locations immediately contact the nearest medical station for support. These are all locations related to the husband. Currently, the locations related to the wife are still under investigation.

This infection has ended a 45-day period of no community infections detected in Quynh Luu district. The last time Quynh Luu district had a community infection was on August 17./.
