Enterprises in Vinh City proactively prevent epidemics and maintain production
(Baonghean.vn) - In the context of Vinh City implementing social distancing according to Directive 16 of the Government from June 19, businesses and factories in the city are urgently rearranging production to ensure "dual goals".

At Trung Do Granite Factory in Bac Vinh Industrial Park, after 1 day of implementing social distancing order according to Directive 16/CT-TTg, despite being affected by the ordersocial distancingand blockade, which means 1/3 of the factory's workers outside the city cannot come to the factory.
Faced with that situation, thanks to proactively reviewing and firmly grasping the number of workers, the Factory has plans to rearrange workers and shifts to produce normally and ensure the general anti-epidemic requirements of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of the city and province. Accordingly, in cases where workers are outside the city, the factory leaders will review and arrange for meals and accommodation at the Factory for production.

The factory currently has 200 workers, including 60 workers outside Vinh city. According to Directive 16 on social distancing, the factory has reviewed and arranged for 30 workers to stay at the factory and 30 workers to take temporary leave for family reasons. Currently, despite the epidemic and the impact of having to cut labor, the factory still ensures the production line runs 24/24.

Similarly, at Minh Anh Kim Lien Garment Company, before the social distancing in the whole Vinh City according to Directive 16, the Company had about 400 Ha Tinh workers who were required to stay according to Directive 15; now due to the increased level of social distancing, nearly 2,000 out of 3,200 workers working at the Company outside Vinh City face the risk of not being able to go to work at the factory.
Therefore, to implement "dual goals"On the one hand, the Company reviewed shifts, labor force and arranged for workers outside Vinh City to stay in the factory; at the same time, it found schools and motels near the factory area. In the immediate future, some workers were arranged to live right at the factory to maintain production and strictly comply with epidemic prevention regulations.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Sinh - General Director of Minh Anh Nghe An Garment Company said: Previously, the Company made efforts to arrange for 400 Ha Tinh workers to work at the Factory according to the social distancing requirements of Directive 15/CT-TTg and now according to the new requirements of Directive 16/CT-TTg, the Garment Company in Bac Vinh Industrial Park is trying to find every measure and is almost straining to maintain production, in order to ensure on-time delivery according to the signed contract.

Not only enterprises in the industrial park but also enterprises outside have strengthened epidemic prevention measures to ensure production. A typical example is the EM-Tech Electronic Components Factory in Vinh Tan Ward, Vinh City. This unit currently employs nearly 2,000 workers, of which 200 workers come from Ha Tinh to work and now that Vinh City is under higher social isolation according to the blockade level, the number of workers outside the city working at the factory will increase. Therefore, based on the direction of the Vinh City People's Committee, this enterprise has rented hotels and motels near the factory for workers outside Vinh City to stay to control the epidemic.

Besides, through research, we learned that previously, businesses such as Military Region 4 Packaging Factory and E.Tech Factory in Vinh Tan Ward, where over 200 workers came from Ha Tinh to work every day and vice versa from Vinh.
Therefore, since mid-June, when the epidemic situation in Ha Tinh and the risk of an epidemic in Vinh City, the city's Steering Committee for Epidemic Prevention and Control has led these units to review and let workers register that if they work, they will stay at the facility or vice versa; in any case of going out of the area, the factory will arrange for workers to replace them and they will be given temporary leave and quarantined for the required number of days before returning to the factory.

Mr. Tran Quang Lam - Vice Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee said: Thanks to the drastic and proactive measures as above, although the cases of community infection in Vinh City and Ha Tinh are quite complicated, up to this point, businesses and factories in Vinh City are still safe and maintain their strongholds to maintain normal production.
Timely resolve arising problems and difficulties
In addition to the above initiative, the actual research at Minh Anh Garment Company in Bac Vinh Industrial Park shows that due to the large number of workers from outside the city working at this company (nearly 2/3 of the total number of workers) and according to Directive 16/CT, these workers cannot enter the city and the Factory; once in Vinh City, they cannot return and must practice social distancing, causing many difficulties for the Company.
In the recent past, through monitoring the epidemic prevention and control work in neighboring provinces such as Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Ha Tinh, and Binh Duong, we have found that although the epidemic situation is very complicated with many positive cases outside the country,community, even though the epidemic has entered the industrial park, some businesses are still stable.
The reason is that those factories have workers' housing, so they can minimize the number of workers and the source of disease transmission from outside. Even when an epidemic occurs, these units raise their level of vigilance even higher when workers and laborers stay entirely in the factory and have no contact with the outside.

To ensure production and epidemic prevention, on the one hand, businesses and factories need to maintain a strict spirit of vigilance, strictly comply with epidemic prevention regulations when arranging accommodation for workers near the factory, limiting the risk of infection from the community. On the other hand, in the long term, each business and factory needs to consider this possibility so that in normal times it is social housing for workers but when necessary it is an "anti-epidemic stronghold" for each factory.
