The price of main-season oranges in Quy Hop has decreased compared to last year.
(Baonghean.vn) - Quy Hop district (Nghe An) currently has more than 2,780 hectares of oranges, of which more than 1,200 hectares are in the business stage.

Quy Hop orange is the key area of Vinh oranges currently focusing on the main crop. Oranges are grown mainly in the communes of Minh Hop 1,945 hectares, Van Loi 378 hectares, Nghia Xuan 220 hectares, Chau Dinh 118 hectares, Ha Son 123 hectares and scattered in another commune in the district.
According to many households, this year the area of oranges that have fallen is less than last year but the price is lower. Currently, beautiful oranges in the garden cost from 25,000 - 30,000 VND/kg (last year the price at the beginning of the season was 40,000 VND/kg).

In Quy Hop district, there are some businesses investing in growing oranges using high technology, guiding orange growers to follow VietGAP standards with barcode labels to trace the origin. However, this year, consumption is slower than in previous years.
Currently, some areas of Xa Doai oranges with golden heart, late-ripening Valenxia oranges and PQ tangerines are being cared for by farmers to sell on the occasion of Lunar New Year.
