(Baonghean.vn) - The final items such as asphalt paving, installation of median strips, lighting systems, signs... are being accelerated by the units, striving to open the Nghi Son - Dien Chau expressway to traffic on September 2nd under the direction of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Transport.

The Nghi Son - Dien Chau Expressway component is nearly 50 km long, passing through Thanh Hoa province for 6.5 km and Nghe An province for 43.5 km, with a total investment of more than 7,293 billion VND. This is a project converted from PPP (public-private partnership) investment to public investment. In the phased phase, the expressway is designed and constructed with a scale of 4 lanes, a 17 m wide roadbed, and a design speed of 80 km/h; in the completed phase, it will be upgraded to 6 lanes, a 32.25 m wide roadbed, and a design speed of 100 - 120 km/h. This is also 1 of the 5 remaining North-South Expressway component projects in the East of Phase I 2017 - 2020, which will be completed in 2023.
