Big fire at hotel, bar, karaoke complex in Vinh city

(Baonghean.vn) - A column of smoke billowing high from the Avatar hotel, bar, and karaoke complex on Nguyen Sy Sach Street, next to Thai Thuong Hoang Hospital, caused panic among many people.

According to the surrounding residents, at around 9:30 a.m., households living near the hotel saw smoke rising from the basement and first floor of the hotel. Residents shouted and the hotel staff called the fire police.
Upon receiving the news, Nghe An police fire fighting force mobilized 4 specialized fire trucks, ladder trucks and more than 50 officers and soldiers to quickly approach the scene to put out the fire and rescue.

Vinh City Police also mobilized the fire prevention and fighting team, traffic police force, professional teams and police from neighboring wards to participate in fire fighting and traffic direction on surrounding roads.
Due to the design of the rooms and flammable objects, the fire broke out strongly, smoke billowed up to the upper floors, causing panic among many staff and guests.

The fire area is next to Thai Thuong Hoang Hospital, so the hospital is evacuating patients and staff.

Mr. Le Sy Chien - Vice Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee said that the functional forces have approached the scene and are trying to put out the fire and carry out rescue work.
