Bamboo forest fire on hot sunny day
(Baonghean.vn) - Currently, local authorities and forces are focusing on extinguishing the forest fire in Mon Son commune, Con Cuong district, preventing the fire from spreading.
At 5:00 p.m. on July 6, 2023, a forest fire broke out in Yen village, Mon Son commune, Con Cuong district. The burned forest area consisted mainly of giang and bamboo trees.
Upon receiving the information, the Mon Son Border Guard Station, Nghe An Border Guard mobilized forces along with fire fighting equipment led by Major Hoang Van Giang, deputy station chief, to the scene to coordinate in extinguishing the fire. Due to the darkness, the fire being far from water, and the forest being mainly composed of flammable trees, the fire fighting work encountered many difficulties.
For now, the Mon Son border guards and local authorities, along with the people, divided into small groups to clear runways to limit the spread of fire.
As of 8:30 p.m. on July 6, forces were still trying to put out the fire.
