Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee inspects storm prevention and control work No. 2
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 2, comrade Tran Ngoc Tu - Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee inspected the work of preventing storm No. 2 at Thong Thuyen sluice area, pumping stations for flood drainage at Cau Den and Cau Tri, inspected the water collection pit system and some localized flooding points in Vinh city.

The Thong Thuyen culvert behind Vinh market has the function of draining water for Vinh market area and surrounding areas, so when inspecting, city leaders requested functional units to closely monitor and handle when the water level rises.
Inspecting the pumping stations for flooding at Cau Den and Cau Tri, and the water collection pit system, Vinh city leaders requested relevant units to focus on human resources to clear the flow, monitor the storm's developments, and be proactive in flood response plans.

At pumping stations, units need to be on duty 24/7, especially at Cau Tri pumping station, where water fern is pouring in and covering the water, causing blockage of the flow. It is necessary to arrange forces to scoop and clear the flow.

Although the amount of rain caused by storm No. 2 was not large, local flooding occurred in Vinh city. Present at hamlet 13A, Nghi Kim commune, Vinh city, comrade Tran Ngoc Tu requested the leaders of Nghi Kim commune, Vinh Urban Infrastructure Management and Development Joint Stock Company and the City Urban Infrastructure Department to review the connection points of the drainage system to soon have solutions to overcome the current local flooding situation that affects people's lives.
