According to the police, at midnight on November 23, Mr. Phuong discovered Nguyen Dang Tung (15 years old) breaking into his grocery store. Out of anger because he had often been robbed in the past, he took a sword available in the house and slashed Tung many times on the head and arm. Only when the victim collapsed did the male homeowner stop.
Tung was taken to the emergency room afterwards with a health damage rate of 61%.
