The leader of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Con Cuong district said that in 2022, the total pig herd in the district will reach nearly 28,850 heads; the output of fresh meat for slaughter will reach about 2,305 tons. In recent years, in Con Cuong district, African swine fever has affected the development of the pig herd, making herd restoration difficult due to lack of breeds and risks when the disease is still latent.
As the Lunar New Year approaches, the outbreak of livestock diseases will threaten agricultural production and people's lives. Therefore, the district is urgently directing communes to promptly implement disease prevention measures for livestock, first of all African swine fever in pigs.
