Guitar fever hits Vinh

(Baonghean.vn) - In recent years, with love and passion, Vinh youth have been contributing to making guitar a strong and widespread musical movement in the community.

From school stages, classrooms, schoolyards to coffee shops or sometimes in public areas such as Ho Chi Minh Square, it is not difficult to see young people enthusiastically practicing and performing with guitars. The players are not only boys but also girls, high school and middle school students. From there, many guitar clubs and bands were born.

Established only about 2 years ago, the Law Faculty's Du Ca Club with 161 members, mainly from the faculty, quickly became one of the strongest guitar clubs of Vinh University. The club contributes to creating artists for the school's art team as well as organizing du ca exchanges with schools in Vinh city such as Vinh Medical University, Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical Vocational College... Many members of the club also perform at coffee shops to satisfy their passion for singing and playing.

At Vinh University, in addition to the Law Faculty Guitar Club, there are 3 other guitar clubs including the Economics Faculty Guitar Club, Sunflow and Guitar VUN, which were also recently established.

Not only developing strongly in colleges and universities, the guitar movement has also spread to high schools such as Phan Acoustic Club (PAC) of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted or some guitar clubs and groups in Vinh University's Gifted Block and Huynh Thuc Khang School. According to incomplete statistics, Vinh city has about 8 guitar clubs and groups of students.

Although she is a girl, Le Ho Anh Thu, the head of the PAC Club, is still passionate and plays the guitar quite skillfully. Anh Thu shared that she started playing the guitar 3 years ago and mainly self-taught. Although the guitar causes many calluses to appear on her hands when playing, this does not hinder the passion of the girls. Currently, in guitar clubs and groups, girls like Anh Thu are not rare.

As for Nguyen Manh Quang, a member of the Law Faculty's Du Ca Club, playing the guitar has changed him. If before he was just a shy person who loved playing video games, since he picked up the guitar, it has helped him become more confident in front of a crowd, made more friends and helped him develop a healthy habit and hobby.

Currently, there are many types of guitars on the market with affordable prices ranging from 700,000 VND to several tens of millions. As for students, they only need to spend 1,500,000 to 2,000,000 VND to have a good guitar./.
