Quy Hop police fined nearly 1 billion VND for cars violating overload regulations
(Baonghean.vn) - To prevent the situation of oversized and overloaded vehicles carrying minerals on the roads, the Traffic Police force and Quy Hop District Police have increased patrols and handled violations, contributing to ensuring traffic order and safety and infrastructure in the area.
Using mobile electronic scales, within a few hours, the Patrol and Control Team, Traffic Police of Quy Hop District Police requested to check dozens of vehicles traveling on National Highway 48D showing signs of overloading.

During the inspection, some vehicles were found to be overloaded by 15% - 30% compared to the permitted parameters. These violations were recorded for handling, and at the same time, the drivers were required to unload according to regulations before the vehicles were allowed to continue circulating.
For vehicles with extended cargo beds, authorities require vehicle owners to return the original cargo bed.
During the process, some drivers and businesses violated road traffic laws and "challenged" the authorities. A typical example of this incident was at 3:00 p.m. on October 1, at National Highway 48C, the Quy Hop Police Traffic Team was inspecting the Howo vehicle with license plate 37C-12023 of Kim Tien Production and Trading Joint Stock Company for overloading and exceeding the prescribed size, but at the time of inspection, the driver of this company's vehicle refused to present documents and fled the scene.

In the first 9 months of 2018, Quy Hop Police organized 696 patrols with 2,300 officers and soldiers participating, detected and recorded 2,266 cases, including 89 cases of oversized vehicles; handled 1,997 cases; paid nearly 979 million VND to the state budget.
