Nghe An Electricity Company: Focusing on upgrading and investing in new power grid infrastructure

Implementing the 2022 theme of Vietnam Electricity Group "Safe, flexible and effective adaptation", in parallel with grid maintenance and incident prevention, in the past year, Nghe An Electricity Company (PC Nghe An) has mobilized many resources, focusing on renovating, upgrading and investing in new grid infrastructure. Thereby, contributing to meeting the electricity demand for socio-economic development of the province.

Nghe An is a province on the way to develop industrial and agricultural production, is one of the localities attracting large investments in the country. The demand for electricity to supply for socio-economic development is constantly increasing. Along with the actual demand, the safe and continuous supply of electricity with increasingly high quality of electricity is always identified by PC Nghe An as the top priority.

Mr. Le Quang Thanh - Deputy Director of PC Nghe An said: "To ensure sufficient power grid to serve the socio-economic development needs of the province, in recent times, PC Nghe An has invested in building, upgrading and renovating power grid projects in the area. Thereby, contributing to preventing overload, minimizing power loss, improving the quality of electricity serving customers. Currently, PC Nghe An is urging construction units to promptly complete the remaining projects to ensure quality and progress to improve the efficiency of the power grid."

Through assessment, the quality of electricity in Nghe An province is increasingly improved. In particular, many areas with previously difficult grid infrastructure are now being gradually upgraded to meet the electricity needs of the people.

In 2022 alone, PC Nghe An was assigned by the Northern Power Corporation to invest in the construction of 19 projects with a total investment of more than 239 billion VND. Specifically, it has invested in the construction of projects such as: Anti-overload projects, grid loop automation, MDMC multi-split multi-connection projects, construction of medium voltage output lines after existing and ongoing 110kV stations, etc.

Once put into operation, the projects will help improve transmission capacity, reduce power supply radius, create inter-district and inter-regional connections, and reduce power loss for districts in the area.

To improve the quality of electricity, PC Nghe An continues to promote investment in construction, upgrading and renovating the grid infrastructure. In particular, focusing on building medium and low voltage lines and installing additional transformer stations in under-loaded, overloaded areas, and areas with long power supply radius and low voltage quality, especially in remote areas.

In addition, for the existing power grid system that has been in operation for many years, the company has also focused on repairing and consolidating to ensure the transmission and supply capacity. Accordingly, PC Nghe An has carried out 74 major repair projects with a total investment of more than 54 billion VND. Of which, there are 11 110kV power grid projects and 63 medium and low voltage power grid projects.

With the efforts of PC Nghe An and the support and assistance of departments, branches and local authorities in investing and renovating the power system, it has contributed to promoting local socio-economic development, helping people ensure electricity needs in production and daily life, improving the quality of life.
