(Baonghean.vn) - This work helps the Electricity industry to increasingly improve the quality of customer service, in line with the roadmap to modernize the metering system and digital transformation in the business and customer service sectors.

With the goal of continuously improving the quality of customer service, meeting the roadmap for modernizing the metering system and digital transformation in the field of customer service business, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) has built a roadmap to gradually unify the schedule for recording electricity consumption index (GCS) of electricity customers throughout EVN at the end of the month.

Implementing the direction of Vietnam Electricity Group, Northern Power Corporation, Nghe An Power Company has developed a Plan to implement changing the meter reading schedule to the last days of the month for all remaining electricity customers starting from September 2023.

Changing the meter reading schedule to the last days of the month will help customers conveniently monitor electricity consumption, monitor meter readings and pay monthly electricity bills; it does not affect customers' rights when paying electricity bills according to the current step-by-step electricity price. Specifically, for customers buying electricity for household purposes (applying the step-by-step electricity price), the electricity bill will be calculated according to the provisions of Clause 5, Article 1, Circular 09/2023/TT-BCT dated April 21, 2023 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

During the month of GCS calendar change, the electricity bill will be calculated based on the actual electricity consumption recorded on the meter. For customers purchasing electricity for domestic use (applying the step-by-step electricity price), the electricity consumption of the additional days due to the GCS date change will still be calculated according to the step corresponding to the number of additional days, so it does not affect the customer's rights.

Moving the GCS calendar to the end of the month is in accordance with tax regulations and accounting principles (synchronizing costs and revenues in the same financial reporting period).

Nghe An Electricity Company will inform about the change in meter reading schedule on the Company's website, announce on local mass media about the change in meter reading schedule; send notification to all customers connected to Customer Service App, Zalo, Email and other forms about the roadmap for changing meter reading schedule, ensuring that customers changing meter reading schedule receive information before implementation.
