Voters in Anh Son are concerned about the Ban Mong water reservoir project.

On the morning of November 27th, National Assembly deputies Le Quang Huy - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment; and Tran Van Mao - Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province, held a meeting with voters in Binh Son commune, Anh Son district.

At the beginning of the meeting, Representative Le Quang Huy informed the voters about the basic contents of the recently concluded session.

At the conference, voters in Binh Son commune stated that, in implementing Government Decision 22 on housing support for people with meritorious services, the commune has approved 58 cases. However, since Decision 22 was issued in 2013, several houses in the commune have deteriorated and need to be rebuilt or renovated. Therefore, voters hope that the Government will pay attention to supporting the repair and reconstruction of houses to ensure stable living conditions.

Regarding investment in rural infrastructure development, Binh Son is one of the communes with the most difficult road conditions in Anh Son district. Voters wish to upgrade the road from Cay Khe intersection (Thanh Son commune) to Tan Ky, passing through Binh Son commune; continue allocating funds to complete the Binh Son to Tho Son road; and address the unfinished Song Con rescue and relief road, which has been under construction for many years, causing difficulties for residents in travel and goods transportation.

Voters in Anh Son district also have concerns aboutBan Mong Reservoir Project"Does the National Assembly have a resolution to continue implementing this plan? Will the irrigation works in the downstream area of ​​the Ban Mong reservoir be built? If so, when will the two electric pumping stations in Binh Son commune be constructed?" a voter from Binh Son commune asked.

Additionally, during the meeting, voters also requested that the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee consider increasing the monthly allowance for deputy heads of mass organizations at the commune level and village officials, as the area is now larger and transportation is difficult after the merger.

After listening to the opinions of voters, representatives from various sectors, local leaders, and National Assembly deputies directly addressed many issues. In particular, regarding the Ban Mong water reservoir project, Deputy Le Quang Huy stated that the project was launched in 2009 but had to be temporarily suspended in 2011 due to the government's decision to cut public investment.

In 2017, after the project received renewed funding for implementation, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development requested Nghe An and Thanh Hoa provinces to conduct a comprehensive review of land use areas, particularly forest land, as the area of ​​protective forests had increased to 312.95 hectares. Therefore, the project encountered a nationally important criterion as stipulated in the Law on Public Investment.

“This project had to be halted to be submitted to the National Assembly because it required the conversion of a large area of ​​forest, over 1,000 hectares. During the recent session, the National Assembly approved it. And I am confident that in the future, the Government will have the resources to invest. And the pumping stations in Binh Son will also be implemented. I hope the people can rest assured,” said representative Le Quang Huy.
