Voters of Dien Chau district: Need to promote modernization of agriculture and rural areas

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 11, at the Dien Chau district conference center, 4 candidates for National Assembly deputies elected in unit No. 5 and 12 candidates for Provincial People's Council deputies elected in units No. 7 and No. 8 had a meeting with voters who are leaders, experts, civil servants of the District Party Committee, District People's Committee, people's groups, heads of agencies, communes and towns throughout the district.

Candidates for the 14th National Assembly in Unit 5 include: Nguyen Van Chi - Director of the Policy Department, General Department of Taxation, Ministry of Finance; Nguyen Thanh Hien - Principal of the Provincial Political School; Cao Khac Chien - Chief Justice of Nghi Loc District People's Court; Phan Tien Dung - Head of Training Department, Provincial Political School.

The conference listened to the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Chau district report on the brief biographies of candidates for National Assembly deputies and candidates for Provincial People's Council deputies.

The action program presented by each candidate to voters clearly defines their role and position in order to pay attention to social issues; the role of elected representatives is to be close to the people, listen to the thoughts and aspirations of voters and make recommendations to the authorities for resolution.

Accordingly, the contents proposed by candidates for the National Assembly and Provincial People's Council to implement when elected focus on mechanisms and policies to meet the needs of investment in socio-economic development, especially agriculture, rural areas and farmers, sea - island programs, new rural construction; support policies, solutions for difficult areas such as mountainous areas, coastal areas; social protection policies, job creation, hunger eradication, poverty reduction, social security; policies for people with meritorious services; policies related to the rights of women and children....

Pay attention to solving environmental pollution problems; shortcomings and difficulties in implementing land policies, compensation, site clearance; food hygiene and safety; rectifying discipline, administrative discipline, and public ethics of cadres and civil servants at all levels...

Voter Tran Mau Thuyen, Dien Doai commune, proposed that the National Assembly and the Provincial People's Council have solutions to manage the business of medicines and pesticides.

Next, many voters expressed their thoughts to the candidates. Voters suggested that when elected, candidates for the National Assembly should pay attention to recommending the National Assembly to have a separate resolution on protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands and on fishermen. The National Assembly also needs to strengthen its supervision of power, supervision of monopoly and promote administrative reform.

Pay attention to sustainable human resource development policies to avoid the current wasteful training situation.

Many voters recommended that the National Assembly and the Provincial People's Council should meet the needs of investment in socio-economic development in the locality; support agricultural development, increase production value per unit area; and expand the export market for high-income labor.

In addition, there needs to be solutions for managing medicines; pesticides for crops; food safety and hygiene, rural environmental sanitation...

Voters also expect candidates to cultivate their mettle and sense of responsibility to fulfill their duties as elected representatives and speak up for voters in government agencies.
