Cua Lo aims to welcome 3.15 million visitors in 2019
(Baonghean.vn) - This information was stated at the Conference to summarize tourism activities in 2018 and award prizes for press works promoting tourism in Cua Lo, which took place on the afternoon of November 10, organized by the People's Committee of Cua Lo town.

According to the tourism activities summary report of the People's Committee of Cua Lo town: In 2018, Cua Lo tourism created many new quality products. The number of tourists and revenue increased. The tourist market is diverse, especially the number of visitors participating in conferences, seminars, meetings... Tourism has continuously developed and achieved many positive results.
Specifically, the total number of visitors reached 2.798 million, up 13.4% compared to 2017, reaching 103% of the yearly plan. Of which, the number of overnight visitors reached 1.566 million, up 11.2%, reaching 101% of the yearly plan; foreign visitors reached 6,953.

Revenue from service and tourism activities reached VND 2,851 billion, up 25.4% compared to 2017, reaching 106% of the annual plan. Tax and tourism service fee collection reached VND 35 billion, up 16% compared to 2017. The total number of employees in the tourism sector is 10,350 people.
In 2018, the town built and expanded 3 new accommodation facilities, with 400 rooms, bringing the total number of accommodation facilities in the town to 296. Of which, 53 are rated 1-5 stars. The town is capable of serving 24,000 guests per day and night.

Besides the achievements, tourism activities in Cua Lo in 2018 still have some shortcomings, that is, the state management consultancy work on tourism and the "5 no" policy in some areas are not drastic and still confused.
There is not much propaganda and promotion of tourism activities nationwide. Human resources serving tourism and communication culture in business activities are not really good. Socialization and tourism linkage are focused but the efficiency is not high. Collection of taxes and tourism service fees has not met the requirements.

The conference set out orientations, targets, tasks and solutions for developing Cua Lo tourism in 2019 such as: Continuing to affirm advantages to enhance competitiveness; Putting into operation a number of high-quality services so that Cua Lo will be an attractive, safe, friendly, hospitable destination, worthy of being the first coastal tourist city in the country.
Cua Lo sets a target of welcoming 3.15 million visitors in 2019. Tourism service revenue reaches 3,449 billion VND. Increase 8 tourist accommodation establishments with a scale of 585 rooms. The town has the capacity to serve 25,000 guests/day and night. Create additional jobs for 400 - 450 workers.
