Among the suspects were Tran Van Bang (31 years old, the ringleader) and Tran Van Thanh (30 years old, both from Vinh Phuc province). Police seized 288 heroin cakes, totaling over 100kg, worth about 57 billion VND, two cars and many related documents.

Not far from Bang, when he heard the gunshots, Thanh immediately turned the car around. On the way, Thanh threw the travel bags and the sack of drugs from the car onto the side of the road.

At this time, the reconnaissance team blocking the rear immediately closed the siege. However, Thanh drove at high speed, the task force calculated that if they tried to stop him, it would not be safe for the working group, so they ordered his car to pass the "block point". After nearly 20km of pursuit, the reconnaissance team closed in and controlled Thanh.

According to initial testimony, Bang bought drugs on credit from a person in Van Ho, Son La for 175 million VND per cake, then sold it for profit. When he received the money, Bang paid the seller and also shared half of the profit.
