Special forces opened fire to suppress a couple who were robbing property
After fleeing after snatching a phone, the couple was chased by the criminal police, who fired shots into the air but tried to fight back.
A task force of District 1 Police (HCMC) patrolled the downtown area on the night of June 3 and discovered a suspicious man and woman riding a motorbike. After driving around many streets, the man stopped the motorbike and let the woman sit on a park bench on Le Lai Street to observe.

A moment later, the woman approached the girl sitting nearby, snatched the phone, ran to her accomplice's car, and sped away. The detective's car also sped away.
The high-speed chase took place in the middle of the night, the police fired three shots into the air but the couple still sped away. When the police car caught up, the woman threw her phone at them and swung an iron bar in retaliation. The special police immediately shot her in the leg.
The duo continued to speed towards Ton That Tung Street (Pham Ngu Lao Ward), running into small alleys. When they reached the alley on Le Thi Rieng Street (Ben Thanh Ward), the detectives caught up and knocked their bikes over. The woman was restrained, the man ran into a deep alley but could not escape.

The couple said they were Huynh Dinh Ky (45 years old) and Ho Thi Thanh (29 years old). The police confiscated their backpacks containing 2 sharpened iron pipes, a long knife... and an iPhone and returned them to the victims.
