The first district-level Trade Union Congress for the 2023-2028 term in Nghe An

Attending the congress were comrade Kha Van Tam - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation; representatives of the leaders of the Labor Federations of districts and towns and 135 delegates representing nearly 4,000 union members of 71 grassroots unions in the area..

During the 2017-2023 term, Thai Hoa Town Labor Union completed 24/28 targets, of which 9 targets were exceeded. Union activities have many innovations, focusing on the grassroots, for the benefit of union members and workers.

Notable activities include signing collective labor agreements, supervising the implementation of State policies and regimes; organizing 07 "Tet Sum Vay" programs, giving thousands of gifts to poor workers; supporting the construction of 4 union shelters for union members in difficult circumstances.

During the annual Workers' Month, many meaningful and practical programs have been organized by Thai Hoa Labor Federation such as: "Cooling off the summer heat", "Going to workers' boarding houses", "Thanking workers", "Listening and understanding", "Your health"... During the Covid-19 pandemic, unions at all levels have focused all resources to promptly take care of union members and workers with an amount of nearly 2.6 billion VND.

During the past term, Thai Hoa Labor Federation established 9 new grassroots unions in the enterprise sector with nearly 360 union members; introduced 338 outstanding union members to the Party; advised on the establishment and launch of Party cells in enterprises with 10 party members. Over the past five years, patriotic emulation movements continued to be strongly responded to by grassroots unions in Thai Hoa such as: "Good worker, Creative worker"; "Good at public work - Good at housework", "Green, clean, beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene", "Culture, Sports"...

With the motto "Solidarity - Innovation - Democracy - Aspiration - Development", for the 2023 - 2028 term, Thai Hoa Labor Federation has set out 20 groups of targets with 3 breakthroughs to continue striving, overcoming difficulties, building a strong working class and Trade Union organization.

Speaking at the congress, the leaders of the Provincial Federation of Labor and the leaders of Thai Hoa town acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the Thai Hoa Federation of Labor in the past term. Entering the new term, the Thai Hoa Federation of Labor needs to continue to unite, make efforts, and strive to fulfill the set targets. Always focus on the grassroots, put the interests of union members first. In particular, strongly innovate activities, in which, focus on implementing digital transformation.

After a day of urgent and serious work, the congress unanimously elected 15 members of the Executive Committee of the Thai Hoa Town Trade Union for the 2023-2028 term and elected 8 delegates to attend the Provincial Federation of Labor Congress to be held in the near future. Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Thuy was re-elected as President of the Thai Hoa Town Federation of Labor for the 2023-2028 term./.
