The Party Congress of Vinh University of Technical Education for the 2020-2025 term officially opened

The 26th Party Congress of Vinh University of Technical Education (SPKT), term 2020 - 2025 took place with the theme:“Improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization and Party members; Building Vinh University of Technical Education into a prestigious applied-oriented technical education university in the Central region and the whole country”.

Increasingly asserting position

The political report stated that during the past term, Vinh University of Technology and Education hasStrongly innovate admission methods, closely combine admission, training and job placement for graduates.

The enrollment results of all forms and levels of long-term training during the term reached a scale of 1,700 - 1,900 students/year; short-term training enrollment of 3,937 students, vocational skills assessment for 266 people; training and fostering Lao students studying abroad: 235 students.

During the 2015-2020 term, the school opened 2 more master's training majors, opened 2 new majors and converted 1 university training major; registered vocational education activities for 26 college-level occupations; registered national vocational skills assessment for 8 level 3 occupations.

Implement autonomy in training National Defense and Security Education; licensed by City & Guilds (UK) to train and assess international vocational skills; licensed by ICDL Vietnam to train, foster, assess and issue international standard Information Technology certificates.

The school has built, revised and supplemented 12 university training programs and 26 college training programs in an applied direction to meet the needs of society.

Scientific research activities are always given attention and all conditions are created for development. In the 2015-2020 term, the school has implemented 5 ministerial-level scientific research projects, 1 provincial-level project, and 49 school-level projects.

The school also strengthened and expanded international cooperation activities to enhance the school's position. During the term, 30 memorandums of understanding and cooperation agreements were signed with 21 international partners in the fields of training, fostering, vocational skills assessment, student exchange with European and Asian partners; strongly developed cooperative relationships with 12 partners of Lao PDR; participated in 3 international cooperation projects.

At the same time, attention is paid to Party building work.The quality of the school's staff is constantly improving. The organization, streamlining of staff and restructuring of staff have achieved many positive results.

REACHING NEW HEIGHTS

In the coming term, the Party Executive Committee of Vinh University of Technical Education has determined the goal of gradually building the School into a prestigious University of Technical Education with application-oriented training in the Central region and the whole country.

The school also strives that by 2025, 100% of the teaching staff will meet the prescribed standards, open 3-5 more undergraduate training majors, 1-2 master's training majors, strive to have 1 doctoral training major by the end of the term; maintain a training scale of 6,000 - 7,000 students; 50-60% of students will graduate with good or excellent grades; the rate of students having jobs after graduation is 100%...

Speaking at the Congress, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee praised and congratulated the school's Party Committee on the important results achieved in the past term.

However, he also said that these results were not commensurate with the potential and position of the school after 60 years of construction and development. At the same time, he emphasized 5 issues for the Congress to discuss, consider and decide in order to strive to achieve the set goals.

Specifically, the school needs to maintain and improve the quality of training majors; build a number of training majors that meet ASEAN and international standards; improve the quality of practical teaching, apply technical technology to practice, the school is closely linked to society; train in international cooperation, train according to orders of employers.

Improve the quality and efficiency of scientific and technological activities. Promote the effectiveness of existing human resources, at the same time expand relationships, maximize resources to make the school become a center of scientific and technological research in the region.

The school needs to develop a reasonable training structure; focus on improving the quality of training in all majors, levels, and training systems to meet social needs. Strengthen cooperation with domestic and foreign organizations and enterprises in the fields of training and scientific research; introduce jobs for students after graduation.

Pay attention to political and ideological work, improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization and Party members. Strengthen and build a united bloc, build a clean and strong School Party Committee.

Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung believes that Vinh University of Technical Education deserves to become the center of education and training, science and technology of the North Central region, promoting the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country.

At the official session, the Congress voted to elect 13 comrades to the 26th Executive Committee of the Party Committee of Vinh University of Technical Education, term 2020 - 2025.

The Congress also voted to nominate comrade Thai Anh Tuan - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice Principal of Vinh University of Technical Education for the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of Vinh University of Technical Education for the 26th term, term 2020 - 2025.
