The Provincial Party Committee disseminates the results of 5 years of implementing Resolution 26

Accordingly, the Politburo assessed that after 5 years of implementing the Resolution, the Party Committee and people of Nghe An province have united, promoted internal resources, attracted external resources, and strived to achieve many important results.

The socio-economy has developed rapidly and sustainably. The total product in the period of 2014 - 2018 increased by an average of 8%/year. The total product in the province in 2018 reached over 115.6 trillion VND, ranking 10th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide; the average income reached 38 million VND; 3 districts, towns and 218 communes met the New Rural standards.

The proportion of industry - construction - services in the economic structure, urbanization rate; investment and business environment have been significantly improved. In the past 5 years, 690 projects with a total registered capital of over 140 trillion VND have been attracted; Infrastructure is increasingly improved, gradually becoming the connecting center of the North Central region.

Education, Health, and Culture have received investment and achieved many positive results. National defense, security, and social order and safety have been maintained. Party building work has been enhanced, and the political system has been consolidated…

In addition, the Politburo also pointed out limitations and shortcomings such as the growth rate not being commensurate with the province’s potential, advantages and general expectations. The advantages of people, natural factors and unique history of Nghe An have not been fully exploited.

The Politburo requested Party committees, central ministries, branches, localities, especially the Party Committee and People of Nghe An to continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the goals, orientations and 6 tasks and solutions identified in Resolution 26, fully and deeply recognizing the special position and role of Nghe An in the North Central region and the whole country.

In particular, the Politburo emphasized that Nghe An needs to summarize, evaluate, and clearly identify development potentials and advantages to create breakthroughs, as a basis for planning the province for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050; innovate the growth model associated with economic restructuring, synchronous and modern development of the infrastructure system; build, supplement and perfect mechanisms and policies; improve the effectiveness of foreign affairs, promote the advantages of people, nature, and historical and cultural traditions of Nghe An; effectively fight and prevent all sabotage plots of hostile forces as well as prevent crimes and social evils; focus on building the Party and the political system of the province to be truly clean and strong.

The Central Committee agreed with the proposal of the Provincial Party Standing Committee to issue a number of special mechanisms to create favorable conditions for Nghe An to develop in the direction of Resolution 26.

At the conference, the reporters also received some international and domestic news such as the recent situation in the East Sea; African swine fever prevention work in the province and orientation of propaganda work in the coming time./.
