The Western Nghe An Spring Festival 2023 will be held in Nghia Dan district.

The Provincial People's Committee has just issued Plan No. 928/KH-UBND on organizing the Western Nghe An Spring Festival Night in 2023.

The Western Nghe An Spring Festival 2023 will be held on January 11 and 12, 2023 (December 20-21, December 12) at Nghia Dan District Square.

The festival is organized to preserve and promote the good customs and practices of the ethnic communities in Western Nghe An during the traditional Tet holiday of the nation; strengthen and consolidate the great solidarity of Vietnamese ethnic groups through cultural and artistic exchange activities, and encourage the spirit of welcoming the New Year with a new spirit of the ethnic communities in Western Nghe An.

At the same time, through activities to promote and introduce the tourism potential of Western Nghe An, a friendly and attractive destination for tourists inside and outside the province.

The program of the Festival includes: Folk song performances, folk music and folk dances, excerpts of traditional folk festival rituals and ceremonies; demonstration of costumes of Nghe An ethnic minorities; exchange of drumming, gongs, carving, bamboo dancing; organization of folk games of ethnic minorities of Nghe An province (tossing con, walking on stilts and tug of war); organization of tourism promotion activities, exhibitions and introduction of typical cultural and tourism products of the people of Western Nghe An.

The Western Nghe An Spring Festival 2023 is chaired by the Department of Culture and Sports; hosted by Nghia Dan district, in coordination with the Provincial Cultural Center, the Provincial Traditional Arts Center and Quy Hop, Quy Chau, Que Phong districts, and Thai Hoa town.

2023 is the 8th time the Western Nghe An Spring Festival has been held. This is a special cultural event for ethnic minorities in Nghe An province, held annually in 11 mountainous districts during the Tet holiday.

Previously, in 2021 and 2022, the Western Nghe An Spring Festival was not held due to the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic./.
