(Baonghean.vn) - After 30 days without new outbreaks, Vinh City People's Committee has decided to declare the end of African swine fever in Vinh Tan ward.

Previously, in early June 2019, African swine fever appeared at the family of Ms. Le Thi Vien in Yen Giang block, Vinh Tan ward (Vinh city). The authorities destroyed 6 pigs with a total weight of 174 kg and announced that there was an epidemic in the area.

After 30 days of the outbreak, Vinh Tan ward has not had any new outbreaks. Based on regulations, Vinh City People's Committee has issued Decision No. 3869/QD-UBND announcing the end of African swine fever in Vinh Tan ward and the threatened epidemic area including the wards and communes of Hung Chinh, Cua Nam, Hong Son, and Trung Do.

In the immediate future, activities of buying, selling, slaughtering and using pork will return to normal in these localities.

Although the epidemic has been declared over, with the complicated developments of the epidemic situation at this time, Vinh Tan ward authorities are advising farmers not to be subjective or negligent. They are directing forces to continue to inspect and screen pigs of unknown origin in the area, and strictly handle those who sell pigs on sidewalks and roadsides.

African swine fever is still complicated in some suburban communes, typically Nghi Kim commune, which has the most outbreaks in the city, but disease prevention work is still subjective and negligent. In Nghi Phu commune, control of pig slaughter at home is still not thorough despite the outbreak.
