The third locality in Quy Hop has African swine fever
(Baonghean.vn) - On September 21, the Quy Hop District Veterinary Station announced that the District People's Committee had just announced an African swine fever epidemic in Lien Hop Commune. At the same time, it announced an epidemic area threatening the communes of Chau Quang, Chau Loc, Chau Hong, Chau Tien and Yen Hop.
Previously, the first two outbreaks were detected in Duoc hamlet, at Mr. Vi Van Vung's family with 2 pigs weighing 60 kg and Mr. Vi Van Su's family with 1 pig weighing 20 kg, both showing signs of fever and bleeding on the skin. Mr. Vung and Mr. Su's families reported to the People's Committee of Lien Hop commune and the Quy Hop District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station, which took samples and sent them to the Veterinary Department of Region III for testing and destroyed 3 pigs with a total weight of 80 kg.
The test results of sample number 8759 of the Veterinary Department of Region III confirmed that the pig test samples of Mr. Vi Van Vung and Mr. Vi Van Su were positive for African swine fever.
To prevent the epidemic, the People's Committee of Quy Hop district has directed that during the epidemic period, all activities of buying, selling, and transporting livestock infected with African swine fever and pork products into the epidemic area in Lien Hop commune must be temporarily suspended.

The District People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to coordinate with the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station and the People's Committees of communes and towns to deploy epidemic prevention work, focus all resources to suppress the epidemic, and urgently implement measures to prevent and control the epidemic according to the content of Decision No. 1623 dated September 20, 2019 of the People's Committee of Quy Hop district on emergency response to African swine fever in the district.
Quy Hop People's Committee assigned Lien Hop Commune People's Committee to set up animal disease control checkpoints at traffic hubs in Lien Hop Commune. For localities where the epidemic has ended and localities where there has not been an epidemic, Quy Hop District People's Committee requires proactive and enhanced epidemic prevention work, close monitoring of livestock diseases to promptly handle any outbreaks.
Thus, Lien Hop is the third locality in Quy Hop to have African swine fever. Previously, Quy Hop town and Yen Hop commune had the disease and declared it over.
