(Baonghean.vn) - After storm No. 3, makeshift classrooms in the border area of My Ly commune (Ky Son district) were severely damaged and degraded. Authorities at all levels mobilized parents and teachers to start renovating classrooms to prepare for students to return to school in time.

My Ly 2 Primary School has 6 temporary school campuses. However, the school campus in Cha Nga village is considered the most seriously degraded. This school campus has 4 temporary classrooms with 53 students. After storm No. 3 (July 2019), the facilities were severely damaged and were at risk of not being able to continue teaching. In order to get students back to school in time, in the past few days, the school has mobilized parents and teachers to contribute to cleaning up and repairing damaged areas.
Due to difficult conditions, classrooms are only temporarily repaired to ensure immediate safety. In the long term, this is still a big concern for this border school.
Raw materials are mainly mobilized locally by villagers.
Teaching materials such as blackboards and tables and chairs are still scattered after storm number 3.
"We are trying our best to repair the school so that the children can return to school on time. However, temporary classrooms like this will not ensure the safety of both teachers and students in the long run, especially during the rainy season because many pillars, beams, and boards have been almost completely damaged by termites," said Mr. Xong Ba Cha, Principal of My Ly 2 Primary School.
