Nghe An province delegation inspects election preparation in Quy Hop district
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 20, a working delegation of the province led by comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department inspected and supervised the election work in Quy Hop district.
Also participating in the delegation were members of the Provincial Election Committee: Ngoc Kim Nam - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee; Chu The Huyen - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chief Inspector of the province; Nguyen Duc Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Le Van Luong - Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Student Association, Chairman of the Council of the Young Pioneers of Nghe An province and representatives of leaders of a number of departments and branches.

Quy Hop mountainous district currently has 20 communes and 1 town with a total of 84,139 voters. Determining that the organization of the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term is a key political task, the entire political system in the district has focused on leading, directing, and performing well the assigned tasks.
Accordingly, the district has established 1 district-level election committee, 21 commune-level election committees, established the Provincial People's Council Election Committee No. 13 and established 13 district-level People's Council Election Committees. At the same time, 167 commune-level People's Council Election Committees have been established, and 170 Election Teams have been established in the voting areas.
The members of the Election Steering Committee have focused on implementing and carrying out the assigned tasks. At the same time, they have guided and urged the grassroots units, especially the 14 communes in the particularly difficult areas, to handle the problems arising from practice.

Up to now, the district has held 3 consultation conferences. At the 3rd consultation, the Standing Committee of the District Fatherland Front Committee unanimously selected 57 qualified candidates to elect 35 delegates to the 19th District People's Council, term 2021 - 2026. The combined structure includes: women account for 35.08%; ethnic minorities account for 33.33%; young people account for 40.35%; non-Party members account for 7%; re-election accounts for 45%.
At the same time, it was agreed to select 797 qualified candidates for the People's Council at the commune level for the 2021-2026 term to elect 481 delegates, ensuring the required balance. Of which, women account for 38.6%; ethnic minorities account for 59.5%; young people account for 52.3%; non-party members account for 15.9% and re-election accounts for 31.6%.
Tasks related to propaganda content; reviewing and preparing facilities for the election; conditions to ensure security, order, and medical safety during the election... are implemented synchronously.

To make election day truly a festival for all people
After inspecting the election preparation at some polling stations in Quy Hop district, the delegation worked with the district Election Committee on issues related to candidate standards; reviewing and ensuring the balance according to regulations; propaganda work; handling petitions, complaints and denunciations; ensuring security and order in the area.
Concluding the meeting, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Nguyen Thi Thu Huong acknowledged and highly appreciated the results of the implementation of the election work in Quy Hop district. In the process of implementing the tasks, the organizations in charge of the election from the district to the commune level were highly proactive, completing the contents according to the timelines, ensuring compliance with regulations and the right composition, creating favorable conditions for the next steps.

In the coming time, the district needs to focus on leading, directing, and reviewing election preparation work, ensuring democracy and objectivity. In particular, the district needs to pay special attention to commune-level areas, especially 14 communes in extremely difficult areas.
In addition, the Election Committees at all levels need to focus on professional training for election teams, members of election teams, and support teams, paying attention to the contents related to the preparation of voter lists, candidate lists, election team operations procedures, and need to forecast situations and how to handle situations during the election process.

Regarding propaganda work, it is necessary to closely link with mobilization so that all people can see the rights and obligations of voters in the election, actively participate in voter contact conferences, election campaigns and vote at a high rate. Promote the propaganda role of cadres, party members, workers and civil servants, promote social networking tools and grassroots radio to widely propagate the election, diversify forms of visual propaganda and agitation, create an atmosphere where election day is truly a festival for all people.
At the same time, the police and military forces need to deploy synchronously and coordinate closely to ensure good security and order for the election to take place successfully; develop a plan to prevent and combat the Covid-19 epidemic in accordance with regulations of the Government and the Ministry of Health.
