Nghe An province delegation attends the 12th European Overseas Vietnamese Business Forum
(Baonghean.vn) - On September 30, in Budapest, Hungary, a delegation from Nghe An province led by Mr. Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended the 12th European Overseas Vietnamese Business Forum.
The forum was organized by the Union of Vietnamese Business Associations in Europe and the Association of Overseas Vietnamese Business Associations in Hungary.
The forum was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese; Vietnamese Embassies and Trade Counselors in several European countries; and overseas Vietnamese businesses in Europe.
On the side of Nghe An province, the forum was attended by representatives of the Departments of Foreign Affairs, Planning and Investment, Industry and Trade, the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board, and the Provincial People's Committee Office. In addition, there were a number of enterprises from Nghe An province and other provinces and cities across the country.

Speaking at the forum, comrade Le Hong Vinh expressed his joy at participating in this meaningful event. This is an opportunity for Nghe An province to introduce its potential and strengths in attracting investment; at the same time, introduce typical products of Nghe An to overseas Vietnamese businesses and businesses from European countries.

Summarizing the province's potential, comrade Le Hong Vinh said that Nghe An has the largest natural area in the country with 16,400km2; population of more than 3.4 million people. Nghe An is the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh - an outstanding cultural figure and national liberation hero.

Nghe An is also a land with a tradition of studiousness, diligence, and creativity; it is the economic and cultural center of the North Central region. The average growth rate of Nghe An province in recent years has reached over 9%/year, ranking among the top 10 localities attracting the largest foreign investment capital in the country by 2022 and among the top 6 localities attracting the largest foreign investment capital in the country in the first 9 months of this year.

Previously, on September 29, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the delegation of Nghe An province visited and worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary. Welcoming and working with the delegation was Comrade Nguyen Thi Bich Thao - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Hungary. Here, Comrade Le Hong Vinh introduced to the Ambassador general information about Nghe An province, the main features of cooperation between Nghe An and Hungary.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary will support the province in promoting trade and labor export; connecting potential businesses from Hungary to learn about and survey investment in Nghe An, with priority given to projects in sectors and fields such as: High technology, advanced technology, environmentally friendly technology, clean energy, renewable energy; manufacturing medical equipment, providing health care services, education and training, high-quality tourism, financial services, logistics and other modern services...
Ambassador Nguyen Thi Bich Thao also shared about the strengths of Hungarian enterprises and pledged to create a bridge to support Nghe An province in attracting investment.

In 2022, the total export turnover of Nghe An province to Hungary reached 10,312 USD with stone tiles; in the first 8 months of 2023, the total export turnover is estimated at 21,136 USD, of which stone tiles reached 18,481 USD, plastic additives reached 2,655 USD. Regarding labor export: In 2022 and 9 months of 2023, Nghe An had 930 people going to Hungary to work.
