Comrade Do Van Chien presented support to Nghe An province to overcome the consequences of floods.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 11, in Thanh Long commune, Thanh Chuong district (Nghe An), comrade Do Van Chien - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front presented gifts to Nghe An province and Thanh Chuong district to help overcome the damage caused by recent floods.
Also attending were comrades: Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Nghe An province; Thai Thi An Chung - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province; Thai Van Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Director of the Nghe An Department of Education and Training.

From September 28 to October 2, due to the impact of storm No. 4, Nghe An province had heavy to very heavy rain, causing severe flooding in many localities in the province such as Quynh Luu, Hoang Mai, Thanh Chuong, Hung Nguyen, Anh Son;...
On the morning of October 2, heavy localized rains in the mountainous district of Ky Son caused a historic flash flood, causing severe damage in Ta Ca commune and Muong Xen town, Ky Son district.

The whole province had more than 8,300 houses flooded; 4,000 households were isolated; tens of thousands of hectares of crops, flowers, and aquatic products were flooded and died.
The flash flood in Ky Son caused dozens of houses to be completely swept away, more than 230 households were buried by 1-3m high rocks and soil. The flood in the province killed 8 people, the total economic damage was huge, estimated at several hundred billion VND.

Faced with natural disasters, Party committees and authorities at all levels in the province have actively focused on directing flood response and prevention, evacuating people to safe places, protecting state and people's assets; at the same time, mobilizing thousands of cadres, soldiers, militia and self-defense forces, and Youth Union members to help people evacuate and avoid storms and floods; and clean up and rebuild houses after floods.
The province has also directed the provincial Fatherland Front to lead the launch of a fundraising campaign to support people affected by floods. Departments, branches, unions, organizations and individuals inside and outside the province have been enthusiastically supporting Nghe An people to overcome the disaster.

However, with the great damage, the lives of people in the flooded areas are now very difficult, facing countless challenges, especially in Ky Son, the poorest and most remote district of the province.
In order to share the difficulties caused by natural disasters, before meeting with voters of Thanh Chuong district before the 4th session of the 15th National Assembly, the Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front presented Nghe An province with 40 great solidarity houses and 200 gifts with a total value of 2,240 million VND; presented Thanh Chuong district with 10 great solidarity houses and 50 gifts with a total value of 560 million VND; and presented gifts to 10 households severely affected by the impact of the recent storm No. 4.

Speaking to the leaders of Nghe An province, Thanh Chuong district and local people, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Central Relief Committee, Secretary of the Party Central Committee Do Van Chien shared the difficulties, hardships and losses caused by floods to the people of Nghe An province recently; at the same time, he hoped that the Party Committee, government and people would unite together to soon overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives./.
