On the afternoon of January 18, comrade Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, visited and presented Tet gifts to the poor and households in difficult circumstances in Thanh Chuong district.

The delegation included comrade Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Thai Thi An Chung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Nguyen Dinh Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office; leaders of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Provincial Labor Federation; the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; representatives of Thanh Chuong district.

Comrade Do Van Chien and the delegation visited, presented gifts, and wished a happy new year to 1/4 war invalid Bui Thanh Tuy, born in 1949, in Phu Lap hamlet, Thanh Xuan commune, Thanh Chuong district. Mr. Bui Thanh Tuy was injured during the resistance war against the US to save the country, both eyes were damaged, and the pressure of bombs and bullets caused him to lose his hearing.

Returning to his hometown, he was well taken care of by his family and all levels and sectors. His family promoted economic development, educated their children and grandchildren, and strictly followed the policies and guidelines of the Party and the laws of the State.

Comrade Do Van Chien and leaders of Nghe An province warmly visited and wished war invalid Bui Thanh Tuy and his family a happy and healthy Lunar New Year 2025, continuing to strive to improve the quality of life.

At Thanh Xuan commune, comrade Do Van Chien and the working delegation presented Tet gifts to poor households and households in difficult circumstances in 6 communes of Thanh Chuong district including: Thanh Son, Ngoc Lam, Thanh Lam, Thanh Xuan, Thanh Tung and Thanh Ha.

On the occasion of preparing to welcome the Lunar New Year At Ty 2025, comrade Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front wished the people of 6 communes and all the people of Thanh Chuong district a warm, joyful and happy traditional New Year.

The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front affirmed that our Party and State always care about the poor and families in difficult circumstances. Many meaningful programs were implemented before Tet, aiming to share with those in difficult circumstances, ensuring that everyone, every family has Tet, no one is left behind.

The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front hopes that the poor and disadvantaged people in Thanh Chuong district will strive to overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives, and gradually become well-off and rich households. In this process, there will be active support and companionship from all levels, sectors, and localities.

At the program, Comrade Do Van Chien - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, together with provincial leaders, presented 100 Tet gifts to 100 poor households and households in difficult circumstances in 6 communes of Thanh Chuong district, including Thanh Son, Ngoc Lam, Thanh Lam, Thanh Xuan, Thanh Tung and Thanh Ha. Each gift is worth 1.3 million VND, including 1 million VND in cash and gifts worth 300,000 VND.

On this occasion, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien and Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Duc Trung presented 500 million VND in support to build a livelihood model for poor households in Thanh Chuong district.

In 2024, the Party Committee and People of Thanh Chuong district achieved many results in all fields: The economy continued to develop, the economic structure shifted in the right direction, the growth rate of production value reached 8.58%, and the average income per capita reached 50.6 million VND/person/year.

Implementing the Program to mobilize and support the construction and repair of houses for the poor and people with difficult housing circumstances in the period of 2023-2025, Thanh Chuong district has mobilized organizations, businesses, philanthropists, officials and people in the whole district to receive over 34.7 billion VND; implemented support to build 402 houses, repair 96 houses for poor households and households with difficult circumstances and will continue to support the construction and repair of the remaining houses to be completed in 2025.

Up to now, the poverty rate in Thanh Chuong district is 2.82% and the near-poor rate is 5.61%; many households are in great difficulty and need the joint help of all levels, sectors, communities and society. To take care of Tet for the poor in 2025, Thanh Chuong district has mobilized over 5 billion VND, giving 1,814 gifts to 100% of poor households. The district also organized gift giving for near-poor households and households in especially difficult circumstances in villages and hamlets.
