Implementing the program of visiting and wishing a Happy New Year 2021, on the afternoon of January 20, comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee led the working delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to visit, present gifts, and wish a Happy New Year to officers and soldiers of Mon Son Border Guard Station and typical policy families, poor households in Mon Son and Luc Da communes, Con Cuong district.

Also attending were representatives of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Provincial Ethnic Committee, the Provincial Border Guard Command and Con Cuong district.
With warm and sincere feelings, comrade Nguyen Van Thong kindly visited and encouraged the officers and soldiers. It is known that Mon Son Border Post is assigned to directly manage 36.5 km of national border, 7 national border markers and 1 Khe Khang Control Station.

In 2020, the unit regularly coordinated closely with the border protection forces of the neighboring country to strictly implement the National Border Agreement between Vietnam and Laos. Through patrolling and controlling the border, no signs of encroachment or encroachment were detected; however, illegal fishing, forestry and mineral exploitation on the border complicated the management area.
The unit regularly coordinates with the commune militia to organize patrols and clear the border and border markers; coordinates with the Lao Border Guard Company 252 to organize bilateral patrols. Thereby, contributing to ensuring border security and sovereignty and creating a close relationship between the border guards of the two countries.
The unit's command has closely linked the construction of the border defense posture with the security posture and the defense posture, creating a combined strength in combat readiness to protect the Fatherland. Closely linking the national defense and security tasks with the socio-economic development in the locality. Regularly maintaining the activities of 14 self-management groups for security and order in border villages and hamlets and 7 "self-management groups for border lines and landmarks" in the area, contributing to ensuring security and order, participating in patrolling and protecting the border lines and landmarks managed by the station.

Acknowledging the achievements of the officers and soldiers of Mon Son Border Post in 2020, Comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee affirmed that the Party, State and People always respect and are grateful for the contributions and sacrifices of the armed forces, including the Border Guard, for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
In particular, in 2020, the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic and the occurrence of many natural disasters have greatly affected the socio-economic development tasks of the country and the province. However, despite overcoming countless difficulties and challenges, the country's socio-economic, defense and security situation has been maintained stably.
