Dong Thanh (Yen Thanh) received the certificate of recognition for meeting new rural standards.

With the enthusiastic response of the majority of people, from 2011 to now, Dong Thanh commune has mobilized over 300 households to donate land and construction works to open traffic routes according to the plan.

There are 24 village roads with a length of 14.95 km; 11.3 km have been asphalted and concreted, the rest have been 100% compacted. There are 98 alley roads with a length of 28.31 km. The total length has been graded to ensure no mud in the rainy season, reaching 100%.

The commune's irrigation system basically meets the requirements for proactive irrigation of rice cultivation areas to the foot of the fields. Currently, the commune is continuing to implement a plan to reorganize agricultural production towards quality, efficiency, and increasing income for people. Thereby, crop and livestock productivity has been increased by 5-10%, with an average income of 32 million VND/person/year.

By the end of 2017, Dong Thanh basically met 19/19 criteria and was recognized by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee as a commune meeting new rural standards.

On this occasion, authorized by Mr. Tran Huu Tien - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, he awarded the Certificate of Recognition of the commune meeting the new rural standards and the province's reward of a welfare project worth 500 million VND to Dong Thanh commune; 4 collectives and 4 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movement of Nghe An joining hands to build new rural areas in the period 2016 - 2020.

In addition, 5 collectives and 6 individuals with outstanding achievements in the Yen Thanh movement to join hands to build new rural areas in the period 2011-2017 were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Chairman of the District People's Committee./.
