Thanh Nam Bridge Construction ProjectThe project across Lam River in Con Cuong district connecting the town with the left bank of Lam River has a total investment of nearly 166 billion VND (of which 126 billion VND is for construction and installation).

This project is invested by the People's Committee of Con Cuong district. Construction time is from September 2021 and is planned to be put into use by September 2023. At this point, the bridge project has been basically completed and vehicles can pass through.

However, the road at the beginning of the bridge in Con Cuong town (intersection with National Highway 7A) is nearly 180m long and still has no land, due to 3 households and 38 business kiosks on state-managed land near the Con Cuong town market that have not been relocated, leading to a delay of more than 8 months.

Specifically, the remaining 3 households who have not received compensation said that the compensation and support for land and assets on the land is still low. The People's Committee of Con Cuong district has approved the compensation plan and notified the second time, but the above households have not received compensation for relocation.

Faced with the above situation, on May 5, the People's Committee of Con Cuong district organized a dialogue with 3 households in Block 4, Con Cuong town on the issue of land clearance at the Thanh Nam bridge project. At the dialogue, the households discussed their concerns about the State's compensation support mechanism and policies.

With people not yet fully understanding the compensation and site clearance work, the leaders of Con Cuong district and the Compensation and Site Clearance Council of Con Cuong district responded and specifically explained the requests of each household. From there, people understood the nature of the problem, especially the State's compensation and site clearance policies. Right during the dialogue, 2/3 of the households received compensation and moved to the resettlement area.

Mr. Lo Van Thao - Chairman of Con Cuong District People's Committee added: Currently, there is only one household that has not agreed, the district will continue to propagate, mobilize, dialogue, and explain. If the above household does not relocate, the district will take measures to protect the construction according to plan.

For 38 business kiosks on state-managed land near Con Cuong town market, the district has come up with the best plan. The district is working on a plan to arrange the business locations of the 38 affected households. These business households will be arranged in the Con Cuong town market area to facilitate trading.
